Culture Information.

Orchids can be divided into 3 heat groups, cool, intermediate and warm. These are denoted on culture sheets as C. I. or W and sometimes a combination of two. They are used as a guide to the growing temperature range of an orchid species. There is no definitive in this but it is a good indicator to start. There are a number of factors that can keep an orchid alive such as water, light, feed as well as heat. Each is as important as the next and the way to be a good grower is to learn all you can on the habitat of any orchid species you intend to keep. Culture sheets, books, videos, and talking to orchid growers both professional and amateur. The more you understand the natural habitat the better your plants will be.
